Lillian Bilocca as a Headscarf Revolutionary led a campaign 
					for the safety of fishing fleet. Her campaign led to the 
					establishment of a Fisherman's Charter by Harold Wilson's 
					Labour Government. The campaign started following the loss 
					of three trawlers in a tragic period that shook the city and 
					the whole fishing industry.
The Three Trawlers were; St. Romanus, Kingston 
					Peridot, and Ross Cleveland lost with 58 
					fishermen on board.

She 
					has plaques in her memory in Hull located at the Maritime 
					Museum and on The Boulevard area of Hessle Road. BBC did a fine documentary on her 
					remarkable story called Hull's Headscarf Heroes. It was 
					narrated by Hull's Lucy Beaumont.
